Eagles The Long Run 1979

The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California during the early 1970s. The group chose the name Eagles as a nod to The Byrds (Leadon had been in Dillard And Clark with former Byrds singer Gene Clark and in The Flying Burrito Brothers with former Byrds Gram Parsons, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clarke). Comedian Steve Martin records in his autobiography, Born Standing Up, that Frey was very particular that the name was Eagles and not The Eagles.
The Long Run (break-up)
In 1977, the Eagles went into a recording studio to produce their next studio album, The Long Run. The album took 2 years to make, but yielded the group's fifth and last #1 single in Billboard, "Heartache Tonight" (November 10, 1979).

Ray Parker Jr. & The Raydio_Two places at the same time - 1980

Two Places at the Same Time is the group's third album of Ray Parker Jr. And Raydio, released by Arista Records in 1980.The success of You Can not Change That brings the star of Ray Parker Jr. at levels so high that the production even decide to alter the name of the group, from Raydio to Ray Parker and the Raydio. The formation, on the other hand, does not change. The album in question is a pure exampleof the kind of Disco, which he was, shortly thereafter, led to Pop by Michael Jackson, and also makes use of the collaboration of the historic jazz musician Herbie Hancock, for which Ray Parker Jr. worked several times in the past. In sales, the disc manages to surpass its predecessor, Rock On, reaching the 33th place ranking U.S. general. The single most successful Two Places at the Same Time, ranking 6th in R& B.

Barry Manilow One Voice 1979

One Voice is the sixth studio album by singer and songwriter Barry Manilow. The album was recorded at United Western Studios and Allen Zentz Recording in Hollywood. The album was a signature of a minor decline in Manilow's success. It reached double platinum, not triple platinum, as his past six albums did. It was released in 1979. The album only contained one Top 10 hit, "Ships", which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The title cut "One Voice" was featured in a lengthy segment in the British comedy show Only Fools and Horses, where the show's central character Del Boy starts singing the song outside a block of flats late at night after he's been drinking, starting a riot.
The song "Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed?" was sampled in the song "Superheroes" by Daft Punk in the album Discovery.

War _ Galaxy 1977

War (originally called Eric Burdon and War) is an American funk band from California, known for the hit songs "Low Rider", "Spill the Wine", "The Cisco Kid" and "Why Can't We Be Friends?". Formed in 1969, War was a musical crossover band which fused elements of rock, funk, jazz, Latin, rhythm and blues, and reggae. The band also transcended racial and cultural barriers with a multi-ethnic line-up. The band has sold over 50 million records to date.
Although War's lyrics are often socio-political in nature, their music usually had a laid-back, California funk vibe. A particular feature of War's sound is the use of harmonica and saxophone playing melody lines in unison, sounding like a single instrument, for example in the melody of "Low Rider". The music has been sampled and recorded by many singers and groups, ranging from R&B / pop singers such as Janet Jackson to nu metal band Korn and hip hop groups like TLC.

Roberta Kelly - Zodiac Lady 1977

Prior to releases in the U.S. through composer Giorgio Moroder's Oasis record label, during the 1970s, Kelly recorded a single in Germany entitled "Kung Fu Is Back Again", released on Atlantic and produced by songwriter/producer Pete Bellotte. After the 1974 single "Kung Fu Is Back Again", she released the single "Love Power" (b/w "Drifter"), a cover version of a 1967 hit for The Sandpepples, written by Teddy Vann, and later made famous as part of the repertoire of Luther Vandross. She also released the album "This is Roberta Kelly" in 1975, a collection of soul funk.In April 1976, she turned to disco with the single "Trouble-Maker" (b/w "The Family") and released an album by the same name. The album contained 5 tracks, including an extended version of "Love Power".In 1977, she released Zodiac Lady, a controversial album that Casablanca Records, during the disco heyday, refused at first to release.[citation needed] Imports from Italy swamped the international dance floors, creating a blockbuster hit in the title track and songs such as "Love Sign".
